Data Entry Work From Home
Whether you're a young mother who'd like to make extra money
while staying home with her kids, or you're a free spirit who
can't really stand the idea of getting a regular office job,
you've probably wondered how to go about getting a job that
let's you work from home. And if you're like most of us,
you've come across ads about getting data entry jobs from home
too, right?
Now, there are some shady offers out there that claim to be
data entry jobs from home, and there are downright scams too,
but there are also legitimate work at home data entry jobs
that can be gotten. You have to put a bit of time and effort
into finding them though, and usually you have to invest a bit
of money too.
Most of the data entry jobs you see advertised online are not
technically jobs, because you don't actually get paid for
entering the data itself. Instead, you enter data, and if all
the stars align properly - or you just get very lucky - you'll
earn money in the form of sales commissions. Let me explain
further.
Many data entry job offer advertisements online are actually
quite shady, and in some cases they're downright scams. Most
of them attempt to make it sound as if you just enter a few
lines of data somewhere, click a button, and that's all there
is to it. These ads lead you to believe you'll be performing
data entry jobs a few lines at a time, and you'll get paid
hourly or based on how many data entries you make each day.
And that's where the problem lies. These types of
advertisements do not actually pay you for data entry. In
fact, they don't hire people to do data entry at all. They
want you to buy their ebook or start up package instead. And
that package tells you to use the Google AdWords system -
which you have to pay for eventually too - to place product
advertisements. And if sales are made through the product
advertisements you create, you'll earn money in the form of
affiliate commissions.
Now this system is actually a valid way to make money. It's
known as affiliate marketing, and many people do this ad
placement each and every day. They are a far cry from data
entry jobs though, and there's usually a steep learning curve
involved before you can start making money from this
technique. In fact, many new people who fall for offers like
this which are called data entry jobs, end up losing a lot of
money trying to make money without really knowing what they're
doing.
Now there are other types of data entry opportunities online,
but you need to know how to find them. These are not
technically jobs either though, because they're usually
performed on a freelance basis. That mean's you're not
actually an employee for a company, instead you're an
independant contractor.
These types of data entry jobs are most often found through
freelance websites such as Elance. These sites are designed
for buyers to put their projects online, and service providers
to bid on them. Many times buyers will list simple data entry
projects they need done, and if you win the bid then you'll do
actual data entry work specific to the clients instructions,
and you'll be paid by the client as well.
