Tips for Getting Home Typing Jobs
If you'd like to work from the comfort of your own home, and
set your own hours most of the time too, you might want to
consider getting home typing jobs. Home typing jobs can be
gotten by almost anyone, with just a little bit of know how
and effort.
In most cases a home typing job is actually a small business
you run out of your home though. There are very few - if any -
employers who hire full time at home typists as a job. Getting
your own home typing jobs is not too difficult though, and all
you have to do is know where to look.
If there is a local college in your area for instance, you can
get many home typing jobs by simply putting up a notice or
flyer on a few of their bulletin boards. Many college students
have lots of papers to turn in regularly, and those papers
must be typed well or they won't be accepted. Not everyone
wants to type their own papers though, and some just aren't
very good at it, so they'll pay someone else to do the typing
part of the job for them.
Another idea is to visit local office complexes in your area
too. You could choose just doctor's offices for instance, or
visit all the business offices within a certain distance of
your home. You might want to create business cards, flyers or
brochures first though, and take a big stack of those around
to the offices with you. Introduce yourself and leave one or
your cards or brochures, so when the office is backlogged with
typing work they might call you for help.
Getting typing jobs online is not too difficult either, and
there are many different types of jobs you may have from one
day to another. Some online business owners create audio and
video productions for their websites for instance, and they
often hire people to do home typing jobs known as transcripts.
These jobs just require you to type out what's being said by
each person on the video or audio files.
There are also online home typing jobs which are more like
data entry jobs than typing. You are typing for this type of
job of course, but you're mainly entering specific data into
specific formats. You might for example, get a home typing job
which requires you to type data from a spreadsheet into an
online form, or into multiple online forms. You might also get
typing jobs online which require you to retype an article that
needs to be posted to a website.
Some home typing jobs, particularly the ones that let you type
at home online, require you to have a few other skills and
abilities too. An author for instance, may write their own
articles or books with a pen or pencil, but need you to type
it into the computer for them and do minor editing and
corrections at the same time.
